Popular pub near Hampden Park unveils six-figure refurbishment after four week closure
A Battlefield pub has re-opened its doors ahead of a summer of sport after a six-figure refurbishment
The doors to Armstrong’s in Battlefield have reopened following a six-figure investment at the bar in the Southside of Glasgow. The popular pub, which is located next to Hampden Park on Battlefield Road has been transformed over the last month.
Speaking after the reopening, Jackie Waddell, general manager said: “Armstong’s is a great community hub and we're so pleased to be back open and busy with customers again – that’s what gives us a brilliant atmosphere. We have revamped the entrance, lobby and bar area so it is more open and flows better, offering customers different spaces to enjoy their drinks with friends, families and fellow fans. Come in and see for yourself, we’d love to see you!”
The extensive refurbishment has seen the entrance improved with new frontage, including a new inner lobby, to help on busy match and event days at the stadium. Armstrong’s is also sporting an updated colour scheme and vibrant new signage.
With the summer fast approaching, the pub’s beer garden has also been revitalised with new decking, furniture and festoon lighting to really make the most of the outdoor space when customers are enjoying alfresco drinks.
There has also been a complete makeover inside the main bar, with more open and designed to reduce queuing with a raised mezzanine for more relaxed occasions while the sports offering, including a new darts area, two pool tables and TV screens showcasing fixtures on Sky Sports and TNT Sports, are championed downstairs.
A mural of Hampden Park stadium has been hand painted above the bar to ensure a vibrant new look for customers. The toilets have also received a refurbishment.
