Have your say on the future of Rouken Glen

Parkgoers are being asked what they want to see happen at Rouken Glen as East Renfrewshire Council sets out future plans for its ‘crown jewel’.

An online survey has been launched - and Rouken Glen users will also be asked to take part in face-to-face interviews in the park itself.

Councillor Vincent Waters, ERC’s environment convener, explained: “This is your chance to have your say on what you love about Rouken Glen and what you would like to see us provide in the park.

The park has received a significant cash boost of late, from a Heritage Lottery grant of £2 million and a council investment of a further £1m.

Improvements have included the restoration of the pavilion into a visitor and heritage cetnre, and a new state-of-the-art children’s playground.

Commenting on Facebook, Joanne Robertson called for a further indoor softplay area. She told The Extra: “We get so much rain, especially this summer!

“Often the outdoor play park is out of the question so something indoors for children would be good.”
