Hilary to be chief umpire at the Commonwealth Games
Hilary MacGuire, a PE teacher at Lenzie Academy, will be on track chief umpire for athletics at the major sporting event this summer

Hide AdHilary, who has also been chosen to be a baton bearer, said: “I was absolutely gobsmacked when I got it. I could have the Olympic referee in my team.
“I was also a Games Maker at 2012 Olympic Games in the athletics equipment team.”
It was there that Hilary was just feet away from history being made when Usain Bolt anchored his Jamaican relay team to a gold medal and 4x100 world record.
And she believes the atmosphere at the Commonwealth Games will be every bit as magical.

“I think we will get that again at the Commonwealth Games with it being such a huge crowd.”
