Hole lot of trouble for Carluke’s Glenmavis Crescent residents

FED-UP residents of a Carluke street have urged the council to fix their pothole-ridden road.

Those living in and around Glenmavis Crescent claim the road, at the junction of Glenmavis Court, is dangerous.

And they are calling for it to be properly fixed before a serious accident occurs or more cars are damaged by the dozens of large craters in the road.

Bert Lucas (67) moved into Glenmavis Court six years ago.

Since then he claims he has had to fork out hundreds of pounds in car repairs because of the road surface.

He said: “The state of the road is totally unacceptable. Every year council workers come down and fill the holes in with tar; within days the holes are even bigger.

“Every year my car has had suspension problems and steering damage because of this mess; I’ve just finished spending £200 on the car and it still needs work done.”
