Hospice 5k walk will help raise funds

The countdown is on to this year’s annual St Margaret of Scotland Hospice Ladies 5k Midnight Walk which takes place on Saturday, September 5.

The walk has become one of the most popular and sociable fundraising events on the hospice calendar since it was first held in 2013.

Almost 500 walkers took part last year, with the colourful outfits and light-up headgear on show adding a real energetic vibe to the occasion.

Several celebrity walkers, including TV news reader Jackie Bird, could be seen walking the route, which starts at Great Western Retail Park before moving along Great Western Road and returning from the Kilbowie roundabout.

Hospice Chief Executive Sister Rita said: “We’re looking forward to seeing as many ladies as possible.”
