Hotel's plea for wedding snaps

Michelle McMahon and Chris Leatham will be the first couple to tie the knot at Boclair House Hotel in Bearsden this year.

The new owners of Boclair House Hotel in Bearsden are asking people to send them vintage wedding photos taken in the grounds of the house.

The hotel, which is owned by Manorview Hotels & Leisure Group, is due to open on Thursday, March 31.

The landmark house, which was built in Tudor Gothic style with a stunning castellated tower, has a series of impressive archways creating a covered walkway reminiscent of Italian cloisters and is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens.

It has been a popular spot for wedding photographs for many years and the hotel owners are keen to display some of them on their Facebook page.

Some of the photos will also be featured in The Milngavie and Bearsden Herald.

The most popular photo will win a romantic dinner for two at the hotel’s restaurant.

The first wedding celebration at Boclair House Hotel will take place on April 30 this year when Michelle McMahon and Chris Leatham will tie the knot.

Michelle said: “We are super excited that our wedding will be the first at Boclair House Hotel.

“It’s a stunning venue and we are looking forward to having a wonderful day with our friends and family. “

Michelle and Chris, who live in Glasgow, will marry at the University of Glasgow, where Michelle works.

A further 66 weddings and special occasions are booked at the new hotel up until the end of 2017.

The hotel will have 12 individually styled suites, a stand-alone restaurant serving fresh locally sourced Scottish produce, and an exquisite grand ballroom which will cater for weddings parties of up to 160 daytime guests and 200 evening guests.
