Grace Irvine, director of neighbourhood services, said: “Campsie Road, Kirkintilloch, was closed on Monday morning due to flooding from the River Kelvin. Water levels had risen over the weekend and the decision was taken for safety reasons.

“Roads officers will continue to monitor the water levels and the road will

be reopened as soon as they drop to an acceptable level.

“Following the recent poor weather - which caused damage to roofing - the decision was taken to close the nursery at Colquhoun Park Primary in Bearsden on Monday 12 January 2015. Information was issued on Sunday via social media and the Council website.

“Nursery pupils will be relocated in temporary accommodation on site from

tomorrow (Tuesday).”
