Iced Falls

by David Cation

This photograph of the waterfall at Rouken Glen was taken after several days of sub-zero temperatures. On this day I set out to capture a local scene that portrayed the cold and also showed the beauty which the icy conditions had created all around us.

I found this location was being backlit by the hazy winter sun and I liked the way this contrasted with the frozen falls in front of me. The walkers stopping on the bridge was a bonus since they add human interest and a sense of scale to the scene.
