Jenny finds ‘cushie’ medium for her art

Artist Jenny Duncan has works with various media and her latest exhibition sees her fusing her art with cushions and other soft furnishings.

A graduate of the esteemed Scottish College of Textiles in the Scottish Borders, Jenny — who now lives in Netherlee — calls on her experience as a product developer with high end firms, including Jaeger, Pringle, Nike and Adidas to introduce new relatioships between her art, embroidery and applique..

She said: “Fusing my art with physical objects such as cusions or other soft furnishings takes art from being trapped behind a piece of glass or mounting into a living environment.

“It puts art in a practical setting.”

Her work will be opened up to a wider audience as she exhibits at Greenbank Gardens on Saturday, September 27.
