Jewish community celebrates in the sukka

Members of the Lubavitch Shul in the Park congregation gathered recently to mark the Sukkos Feast of Tabernacles.

Rabbi Mendel Jacobs hosted breakfast at the Shul’s autumnal sukka, as well as sharing tea and shaking lulov and esrog with residents of Burnfield and Westacres care homes.

He told The Extra: “The Sukkos Feast of Tabernacles celebrations went really well with a great cross section of age groups of people participating in different events.

“Sukkos is a festival of unity — reaching out to friends, neighbours and strangers and welcoming them into the sukka with warmth and friendship.”
