Just the job for HND student Kieran

A hospitality student gave up his Christmas and Hogmanay to further his career ambitions with a placement at the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel.

Kieran Woods’ employment at the Perthshire venue could lead to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work at one of the sporting world’s highest-profile events – The Ryder Cup, which is set to be staged at Gleneagles this September.

The 18-year-old, from Auchinloch, is in his first year of studying an HND in hospitality management at City of Glasgow College and has been putting the skills he has learned into practice at Gleneagles.

Kieran said: “This is something you don’t get the chance to do every day. I feel privileged to get such good industry experience from such a great brand leader. Since I was about 12, I have wanted to own my own nightclubs – they would be upmarket establishments in Glasgow city centre. The BA Hospitality Management course will hopefully lead to me being able to do that.”
