She said: “Over the past two years after building my business and gaining a loyal client base, I decided I would enter The Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards which has been running for the last five years. The first stage of the awards was solely down to client votes and feedback so I was very overwhelmed when I received the phone call to say I had been chosen as one of six makeup artists in Scotland to be shortlisted to the final. This was an achievement in its own right.”

The Awards night was on Sunday, September 4 and there was a four course dinner followed by the awards and entertainment. In all there were 30 categories of awards within the hair and beauty industry and Katie couldn’t believe it when she won her category.

She added: “The support from my clients, family and friends has been amazing and when I was announced as the Best Make-up Artist of 2016 I couldn’t believe it. It is so good to be recognition after all my hard work to get to where I am today.
