Kelvingrove Museum celebrates 10 years since refurbishment

On Monday, July 11 Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery in Glasgow will celebrate ten years since reopening after the much cherished building was completely refurbished.

Since the Kelvingrove’s restoration and redesign, which took three years and cost £27.9 million, it has welcomed over 14 million visitors.

A spokesperson said: “More than one million people have visited the many and varied temporary exhibitions. The impact of the reopening of Kelvingrove on tourism in Glasgow and the city’s position on the international stage is indisputable.”

The museum boasts the only free daily organ recitals in the world so to mark this special occasion they will be hosting a special organ recital which will include the Top 10 most popular renditionas as voted for by the public.
