PROBUS CLUB

The speaker at last week’s meeting of Kilsyth and District Probus Club was Heather Willimott, a long time, and very active member of the Kirkintilloch Moutaineering and Walking Club, her chosen topic ‘Scottish Island Films’.

Heather, with the aid of beautifully shot and edited films, accompanied with vivid descriptions, took us on a journey from Oban, down the Firth of Lorne, past the Garvellachs Islands on to Colonsay. Once again from Oban, this time going up the Sound of Mull to Coll and Tiree. Another journey, this time starting from Mallaig to the Small Isles, Eigg, Rum and Canna, identifying the history, geology and outstanding features of each. Heather finished her talk with a visit to Skye, taking us round the Island, with a fascinating insight on everything from whiskey to climbing the Cuillins.
