Kilsyth pensioner seriously injured in road accident

Details have emerged of a road traffic accident in Kilsyth which has left a pensioner seriously ill in hospital.

Police Scotland have confirmed that a 70 year old man was struck by a car on Wednesday, January 14 around 5.45pm in Airdrie Road.

The accident happened when the man was struck by a Toyota car.

Its female driver was uninjured but left badly shaken by the incident.

Emergency services arrived and took the victim to Monklands Hospital where he remains.

Enquires into this incident are continuing.
