Kriss killer attacked in prison

THE man found guilty of the race-hate murder of 15-year-old Kriss Donald has been rushed to hospital after being attacked in prison.

Imran Baldy Shahid (pictured below) was found guilty of kidnapping and brutally murdering the Bellahouston high schoolboy in 2004 and is serving a minimum 25-year jail sentence at Kilmarnock prison.

According to a source within the prison, the attack had been planned for weeks to coincide with Celtic’s Champions League game.

Shahid was attacked in the prison gym where he was weight training.

The source said many of the lifers were sick of Shahid getting preferential treatment and “didn’t want to see his face everyday”.

The source continued that one prisoner ran over to Shahid and hit him on the head with a 15kg bar.

This was followed by another 15 cons each grabbing bars and joining in the attack.

The murder of Kriss Donald caused a furore in Scotland as it was the first time someone had been found guilty of a racially-motivated killing.

The 15-year-old was grabbed from the street in Pollokshields and taken eventually to a site in the east end of Glasgow where he was stabbed 13 times and set fire to using petrol.

A prison spokeswoman said that Shahid was in a serious but stable condition.
