THERE was a fabulous atmosphere at Lanark Cross for the crowning of 2014 Lanimer Queen Paige McCulloch.

Hundreds of spectators watched from many vantage points including stands and nearby flat windows to see the 11-year-old crowned by long-time Lanark resident Agnes Robb.

Last Thursday’s ceremony was blessed with dry and mild weather conditions, for a crowning which followed the usual fantastic procession of floats, bands and Lord Cornets on horseback through the centre of Lanark.
