The Round Tablers presented the High Mill Steering Group, part of Carluke Development Trust, with a cheque for £1797 - the amount of cash reflecting the year in which the High Mill was built.

Round Table chairman Brian Pringle said: “We have been very impressed with the campaign to save and develop Carluke’s High Mill Windmill and with it being built in 1797 we thought a donation of £1797 would provide a great boost to the project.

“The team at Carluke Development Trust deserve praise and we hope that they receive huge local support.

“They could potentially change Carluke town centre by bringing millions of pounds worth of investment, restoring a marvellous, historic building and creating a project that will provide both education and employment opportunities for the town.”
