Lanark tenant has living room window frosted

A LANARK tenant has claimed that the view from her front living room window is “like sitting in a toilet” – after Housing Association workmen fitted a partly frosted window at her top floor flat in Smyllum Road.

Gran of four Catherine Nicoll (57), told the Gazette she couldn’t believe that the work carried out on behalf of Loretto Housing Association had actually taken place.

“The decision to put a frosted window pane at the front of my living room was absolutely ridiculous,” Catherine said.

“I’d left the workmen at 8.45am on the Friday to go to a hospital appointment in Glasgow.

“I got back around 4pm and nearly died when I saw the state of the window.

“I was like a woman possessed.

“I suffer from COPD which means that sometimes I am housebound.

“I can hardly make it up the stairs so I tend to just sit in the living room and look out the window.

“But I can’t even do that now because the lower part of the window – which I should be able to look out of – is frosted.”
