There was a slight hiccup when the stage for the VIPs was deemed unsafe by police.

But that was quickly forgotten as the Newtongrange Silver Band kicked off proccedings. The Lord Cornet’s Procession, led by Stephen Pillans, then arrived along with the massed pipe bands.
