Lesmahagow’s Hazel and Wilson Barrett lose 18 stone!

A LESMAHAGOW couple are seeing a lot less of each other – after losing more than 18 stone between them.

Hazel and Wilson Barrett shed the weight after joining a local Slimming World class and the weight loss has given them both a new lease of life.

Hazel (35), who is a care home quality manager, met 39-year-old Wilson at nursing college in 1996 and they married in 2000.

Hazel was a size 18 when they first met but by the time she began attending Slimming World, she was 23 stone.

Now she is a slim size 10 and weighs 11 stone while Wilson is a sprightly 12 stone.

Wilson said: “Like most people, our weight gain was very gradual over months and years.

“Joining Slimming World was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made, not just for us but for our family (seven-year-old Christopher and five-year-old William). We’ve got a healthier future together now.”
