Library turns purple for World Pancreatic Cancer Day

William Patrick Library in Kirkintilloch was lit up in purple last night (Thursday, November 17) to mark World Pancreatic Cancer Day.

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

It will stay this way until the end of November, Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

Local MP John Nicolson organised the light up in conjunction with East Dunbartonshire Council.

He said: “I am delighted we are raising awareness of this dreadful disease here in East Dunbartonshire.

“I hope that by lighting up William Patrick Library in purple, we will help put a spotlight on a disease many people still know so very little about.

“Pancreatic cancer has the lowest survival rate of any of the 21 common cancers with one person dying of the disease every hour.”
