THE Boathouse Café in Rouken Glen Park now has a defibrilator, thanks to the generosity of a local charity.

Staff were presented with the potentially life-saving machine by the Craig Stokes HART fund.

The fund has also trained six members of staff on CPR techniques and on how to use the defibrillator.

The Craig Stokes HART fund is run by Dawn and Brian Stokes. Brian said: “Both Dawn and I are delighted that Colin, the owner of the Boathouse Café, has agreed to the defibrillator being installed in his café.

“We were even more delighted that six of the Boathouse staff agreed to be trained on how to use the machine. The cafe and the park are used by many members of the local area and with this defibrillator being close at hand it will improve the survival chances of anyone that it has to be used on.”
