Paintings and prints by a former Bearsden Academy pupil, Jade Sturrock (21), are currently on display at Glasgow School of Art's annual Degree Show (Fine Art) which opened at the Tontine building, 20 Trongate, Glasgow, on Saturday, June 18 and is on until Saturday, June 25.

Jade, a fourth year painting and printmaking student, creates mainly abstract work, often incorporating shapes of the female form.

She credits Bearsden Academy for encouraging her to follow her dream of studying at the prestigious Glasgow School of Art, and says her art teachers Mr Davies and Mrs Daniel were instrumental in helping her to achieve a place there.

Jade, who showed artistic talent from a young age, attended Saturday art classes at The Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie as a youngster. The exhibition is open 10am-9pm Monday - Thursday, Friday 10-7pm, 10-5pm Saturday and Sunday.
