Local men fundraise for Movember

BRAVE men across Cumbernauld have been giving Charles Bronson and Tom Selleck a run for their money by growing a moustache for Movember, and they have raised bucket loads of cash in the process.

This year’s event has been a huge success with men grooming their moustaches to perfection to raise awareness of health issues that effect them, namely testicular and prostate cancer.

Punters at The Red Comyn on Kildrum’s Mossgiel Road sprouted moustaches for the cause and raised over £300.

Father-of-two Paul Ward (42), from Westfield, decided to take part in Movember because he knows first hand how these conditions affect people.

And business partners Iain Hay (25), from Condorrat, and Fraser Lindsay (26), from Seafar, decided to host a Movember event in the Forge Community Centre.

The guys run And Then Some Events, and they have raised around £1,000 through having a gig night and selling Movember Rain cocktails at the fundraiser which was held on Noveber 10.
