For a quintet has been chosen to bear the Queen’s Baton through our area that day on its way to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.

Clydesdale’s big day on the world stage will start at 8am that Sunday when, in Lanark town centre, a piper and a Clydesdale horse will greet the baton.

For more information on this story, pick up a copy of this week’s Carluke and Lanark Gazette which is in the shops now.
