Cumbernauld band Madison say they have a master plan to see them increase their success throughout 2014.

The band, now under the management of Craig Devoy, claim they have a newfound focus which will help increase their popularity with music fans.

“Previously we all had a lot of ideas which were pulling us in different directions,” says lead singer Russell Ferguson.

“By bringing in Craig we have been able to look at all those ideas and decide which ones to throw out and which ones to pursue.

“As a result we have the entire year planned out.”

The next major event for the band is the release of a new single, daringly titled Another Song I Don’t Like.

“The title fits the content of the song, and we also thought it would be fun if we got radio play, as the DJ would have to say something like ‘and here’s Madison with Another Song I Don’t Like, except I’m lying because I really do like this song’,” said Ferguson.

Another change in the band’s direction is that they have deliberately scaled back the number of gigs they will be playing.

“We were doing more and more gigs but it was getting to the point when we were sort of going through the motions.

“They were still good shows but we were thinking ‘here we go, yet another gig’ rather than enjoying it as much as we should have.

“So we have ‘trimmed the fat’ from our schedule so to speak and are only doing a few bigger concerts.”

One of these is a headline appearance at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow on July 24.

This will also be the date for the official launch gig for the single (available to download on July 21).
