Man attacked at Jock's Burn in Carluke

A man was attacked and left with serious injuries at Jock's Burn in Carluke late on Wednesday afternoon.

Now, detectives from Wishaw have issued a description of a man they are looking for in connection with the attack.

The assault happened on August 31 at about 4.40pm.

A 34-year-old man was walking at Jock’s Burn when a man approached him and seriously assaulted him, causing an injury to his face.

He sought help from friends.

He was initially taken to Wishaw General Hospital but has since been transferred to Monklands Hospital in Airdrie.

Police describe the suspect as white, approximately 5ft 11in tall, about 30 years old, of muscular build and with short dark hair.

At the time, he was wearing dark jeans and a black jumper.

The attack took place in the area between Glenafeoch Road and Glenmavis Crescent.

Detective constable Graeme Lawrence said: “This is a well-known spot for the local community and is often used by dog walkers, people out running or just out walking.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the attack and who may have any information to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call officers at Wishaw police office on 101.
