Man charged with sexual offences in Carluke

In total Ryan Hill (23) of 95 Brownlee Road, Law, appeared on 12 charges, all dating back to 2014.

Eleven of them were brought under the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act.

These include charges that he exposed himself to women at Benty’s Lane, Wilton Road and Old Lanark Road, Carluke in June last year and on a path between Market Street and Rankin Street in July and in Chestnut Grove in November; others allege that he was involved in sexual activity. Two of the charges allege incidents in Strathaven and one in Wishaw.

One of the charges was of breach of the peace, accusing him of hiding in bushes near Lanark Loch alarming a woman in November 2014.

Hill pled not guilty, and the case will go to a jury.
