Man gets five years for abusing girls.

Scott Thomas (43) was finally brought to justice after his case was hit by a series of delays.

His trial was due to take place in June 2014, but it was two years before it finally got underway at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Previously it had been adjourned because of his health.

Thomas, of Christie Place, Cambuslang, was found guilty by a jury of indecencies involving girls at a house in North Motherwell between 1998 and 2004.

One of the victims was a teenager while the other was aged between five and seven.

Thomas, who denied any wrongdoing, was cleared of abusing a third girl.
