The 34-year-old was winched to safety by Scottish Fire and Rescue teams from Clarkston and East Kilbride, who arrived on the scene around 3pm.
He was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital.

A man was rescued from the banks of the White Cart on Sundayafter falling 30ft from a cliff in Busby Glen Park.
