Mearns kids dress down for Good Causes

It was off with the school ties and on with own clothes at Mearns Primary recently.

Pupils there held a dress as you please day for East Ren Good Causes after inviting founder Russell Macmillan and wife Yvonne to school assemblies to take questions on the charity.

Russell — who collected a £979 cheque from the kind-hearted kids — said: “Education is more than just learning to read and count, and I hope that our partnership teaches the kids that not everyone in our community is as fortunate as many of them. There’s something wonderful about a group of children coming together to raise money to allow us to love our own neighbours.”
