Megrahi’s life is Big question for Kenny MacAskill on Biggar visit

EMBATTLED Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill has hit back at the many critics who have lambasted him for sanctioning the release of Lockerbie bomber Abdelbaset al-Megrahi from Greenock Prison in August 2009.

SNP Government Minister Mr MacAskill (53), spoke out during a visit to Biggar Police Station.

Rival politicians and citizens at home and abroad are furious that Megrahi remains alive today when he was given just three months to live from incurable prostate cancer at the time of his release.
