Milngavie Choir's 40th anniversary

Three Milngavie residents - Ann Clark, Gordon Rutherford and John Townson - will be singing in Milngavie Choir's 40th anniversary concert at 7.30pm on Saturday, March 5, in St Paul's Church, Milngavie.

They have been members of the choir since its inception.

The concert will inlcude Mozart: Missa Brevis and Vivaldi: Gloria with soloists: Roxana Nite, Emma Oemann, James Slimings and Dominic Barberi. Organ continuo: Derek Norval with Piazzolla: Aconcagua Concerto for Bandoneon and Orchestra and soloist: Aileen Sweeney.

A bandoneon is a South American member of the accordion family. Aileen Sweeney studies classical accordion at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She is a former accompanist of the choir. (Her mother is a chorister).

The choir’s music director is Razvan Luculescu.
