Missing Lanark man’s rucksack is found

A rucksack belonging to a Lanark man reported missing has been found in Lochaber,

Tom Brown, 65, was last seen leaving his home on 1 July and is believed to have checked into Glen Nevis Youth Hostel near Fort William early the following evening.

Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team and the Inverness Coastguard search and rescue helicopter have been searching the area in recent days for him.

His rucksack and contents were found less than a mile east of Steall Falls in the Glen Nevis area.

The search for Mr Brown, who is 5ft 10in tall with grey/brown hair, is continuing, and police are asking anyone with any information about his whereabouts, or who has seen someone fitting his description while out walking in Glen Nevis, to contact them on 101.
