More than 100 years of Scottish properties go online

A FASCINATING social history of Scottish Property Records dating back to 1905 has just been released.

From tenements to palaces - these records offer a snapshot of Scotland during the Edwardian era.

People from Scotland can now access a major new genealogy resource with over 2 million names of Scots included in the property records.

The information is available online via ScotlandsPeople, the official government family history website and the new records - known as the Valuation Rolls, comprise over 2.4 million indexed names and over 74,000 digital images, cover every kind of building, structure or property in Scotland which were assessed as having a rateable value.
