The generous Great British public have made a million pets happy this Christmas, despite them spending the festive season in a rehoming centre, waiting to be adopted.

By backing Support Adoption For Pets’ Christmas fundraising appeal, Santa Paws, over 1 million meals have been donated by generous individuals.

The Santa Paws appeal encourages pet owners and animal lovers to give to pets that aren’t as lucky as their’s this Christmas, spending it waiting for a home to call its own.

As reported in The Extra two weeks ago, we asked people to donate 50p to pay for a pet’s Christmas dinner either at any Pets at Home store or online at the charity’s website as part of the appeal.

And you didn’t fail us, your donations helped pay for more than a million meals!
