A quantity of lead roofing was stolen from the theatre at Mugdock Country Park between 2am and 4am on Monday, February 22.

In a bid to prevent this happening again the machine, in combination with a security camera, will issue a loud voice warning to any trespasser.

It will tell them to “vacate the area” and notify park chiefs and the police.

Thomas Glen, director of development and regeneration, said: “We would appeal for anyone who may have witnessed this crime to get in touch with the police.

“Measures have been put in place to ensure the building is secure and weather-proofed - including a motion-sensitive alarm and camera system, connected to the police.

“The system is a temporary measure until the roof is fixed, with a long-term solution under consideration at the moment.

“The cost of the theft is still being assessed, while the cost of the additional temporary security is negligible.”
