Mrs Fellows joined the group tasked with securing fan-ownership at Fir Park after being particularly impressed by the society’s desire to have a positive impact on the local community and commitment to working closely with the club’s community trust.

She said: “As MP for Motherwell and Wishaw, I recognise the positive impact a stable, family-friendly and community-oriented football club can have in our constituency.

“Having met with society board members in recent weeks, I have been encouraged and excited by the potential of fan-ownership at Fir Park.

“The Well Society’s commitment to work on behalf of not only the Motherwell supporters, but the community as a whole is something I am keen to support.

“I have also been very impressed by the work undertaken by the club’s community trust and welcome the society’s ambitions to work closely alongside the trust in the future.

“I am delighted to become the Well Society’s latest member and urge everyone with an interest in Motherwell FC to give consideration to joining.”
