Muslim week‘a big success’
The visits were organised as part of Islam Awareness Week, and are reckoned to have given those who visited and took part an experience that was as interesting as it was informative.
The event also set the pace for future efforts along similar lines, which will be tailored to suit people of all ages.

Hide AdThe organisers say one local teacher said she could see the degree of planning that had gone into the workshops, and the links to the curriculum for excellence.
Due to the positive feedback and high demand Cumbernauld mosque now plans to continue workshops and mosque tours on a regular basis.
Islam Awareness Week Scotland (IAWS) was part of a UK-wide initiative which is now in its 21st year.
Over 25 Scottish Muslim organisations and institutions came together to organise a busy week of “diverse, stimulating and fun events” - such as those staged in Cumbernauld - open to anyone aiming to meet Muslims and learn more about Islam.

Hide AdIAWS wanted to engage the people of Scotland of all faiths with the aim of achieving a greater understanding of Islam, and “to celebrate the unity and diversity of Muslim Scots as an integrated part of the Scottish community.”
