New £12.4m school begins to take shape
The children from Cleddens Early Learning and Childcare Centre will join pupils from Woodhill and Auchinairn Primary Schools in the new £12.4m Thomas Muir Primary School in Spring next year.
The building will also house pupils from the childcare centre.

Hide AdThrough specially created viewing windows on the hoardings around the construction site, the children were able to watch the builders hard at work.
The facility is being delivered through the East Dunbartonshire Council’s Primary School Improvement Programme, which they say will provide children and young people with first-rate learning and play environments.
Depute Manager of the Centre, Michelle Baxter, said: “The children are very excited to see diggers and builders on the site and to look up at the new building as it takes shape.
“The staff and parents are just as excited to see the progress that is being made and we are all looking forward to moving into our brand new accommodation.”

Hide AdCouncillor Manjinder Shergill, Vice Convener of the Council’s Education Committee, added: “It is great to see the enthusiasm among children and staff.
“Our plans for education in East Dunbartonshire are ambitious and I am confident we are creating a facility in Bishopbriggs of which everyone can be proud.”
Cleddens Learning and Childcare Centre is a purpose-built extended day and year nursery which opened in 2003. It caters for about 200 children a week with a baby room for infants as young as six weeks, as well as a room for 2-3 -year-olds and a 3-5-year-old room for toddlers and pre-schoolers.
