Plans for a new building which will replace the current century old school came before the council’s planning committee on Tuesday morning with councillors overwhelmingly backing the new school being constructed.
However, it does mean the 100-year-old building which has served generations of locals will be demolished to make way for it.

The new single-storey school will comprise of two classrooms, a drop-off point, six car parking spaces, two disabled spaces and a multi-use games area (MUGA) which would be available for community purposes outside school hours.
The building will also be energy efficent with a ground source heat pump and solar panels providing heating for the building.
During the period of construction pupils will be decanted to nearby Tinto Primary; there were no objections to the plans.
