The redesign includes a new layout, reading area with improved seating, newspaper and magazine snug and a colourful new children’s space.
There are also two meeting rooms and learning suite, a community room with catering facilities and a heritage room to help visitors research the history of the area.
Opening hours will be extended for the library, and there are classes and events planned for the coming months.
Councillor Mary Montague, ERC convener for community services and safety, said: “This major project has turned Giffnock Library into a real hub for the community.
“Everyone involved in the planning, design and construction has done an amazing job to turn it into this wonderful space.”
