New owners for Cumbernauld Centre?

NEGOTIATIONS for the sale of the oldest part of Cumbernauld Centre are at an ‘’advanced stage’’ it has been claimed.

The building was put up for grabs for £3.5 million in November after its parent company – CNC Investments – went into administration in June.

A company of receivers called BDO was tasked with selling the giant megastructure as a going concern – and that an interested party is ready to pay up.

There had been a suggestion that North Lanarkshire Council should snap up the building at this knockdown price, but the buyer has no connection to NLC.

No further comment about the sale was available from BDO at time of going to press.
