Olivia sets her sights on a crown

Kirkintilloch girl Olivia McPike has won a place in the grand final of the first ever UK Power Pageant.

Olivia, 18, who works in her family’s restaurant, has beaten off competition from across the country to be named as one of the grand finalists.

She has won the title of Miss Stirlingshire International, and in July will take part in the UK Power Pageant at the Park Hall Hotel in Lancashire.

Olivia was placed runner up in the Miss Scotland competition last year, and she hopes to go a step further this year by bringing a crown back to Scotland. She says competing in pageants has helped overcome her battle with depression and anxiety, and if she wins a national title she would like to use her platform to raise awareness of mental health issues. At the UK finals the contestants will take part in two days of exciting activities including the Beauty Queen Bootcamp, a British Afternoon Tea, a PJ Party, photoshoots, and the grand final itself.
