Last week we revealed that a buyer had been found for the club - amidst much disappointment from locals who wanted the club to remain in public hands.

The Big Lottery Foundation which oversaw the sale made it clear that the name of the owner could only be revealed by accessing a Freedom of Information request.

However, we can now confirm that the new owners are Joe Curtis and his sons.

They have chosen the club as the headquarters for the two business they run in Cumbernauld namely Themaflow Ltd and Neat Heat.

A joint statement from the family said: “The club was on the market for three years and anyone who wanted to buy it could have done. “We decided to put in an offer and that was that.

“We’d stress that we are looking into keeping part of the club as a function suite, to keep it in the community, but that will take a lot of work because the truth is that there is nothing left within the club at this time.”
