The festival of spring colours — suitable for all the family — runs at the park on Sunday, April 6.

The event is rooted in the Hindu belief that the coming of spring brings renewed hope and optimism — but is open to everyone, regardless of class, status, colour or creed.

Visitors will be treated to a bouncy castle, henna hand painting, music and dancing and food stalls — but the main event is colour play, a special area set up for people to pelt each other with eco-friendly coloured powder (anyone wishing to take part should wear old clothes as the powder may stain).

Colour play is at 2.30pm, and Holi runs noon to 4pm.

It’s the event’s second year at Rouken Glen, and Holi is organised by the East Renfrewshire Hindu Association, East Renfrewshire Faith Forum, East Ren council, Rouken Glen and Diversity East Renfrewshire.
