People invited to view £200k community facility in Balornock

Work is complete on the £200,000 transformation of a run-down church building in Balornock into an innovative community facility.

An open day takes place to show off the new facilities of the Oasis Centre in Northgate Road on Friday, March 28, from 11am-3pm.

The project, part-funded by the Church of Scotland, has been spearheaded by local minister Daniel Frank and his wife Becky of Wallacewell Community Fellowship.

People are invited to tour the centre on Friday to view the facilities on offer and find out what’s available.

Becky said: “Programmes will be launched the week following the Easter break but we wanted to hold an Open Day to let people see the building and find out what is to come.”

Activities on offer include a Saturday night youth club, after-school club, healthy eating workshops, family dinners, infant massage, a job club and learning courses in partnership with Glasgow Kelvin College.

The open day will run from 11am-3pm.
