Asda Newton Mearns colleague goes extra mile to help poorly customer

Asda Newton Mearns colleague Margie McDonald has been commended for her display of excellent customer service.

When an 86-year-old elderly shopper felt unwell during his grocery shop, Margie took it upon herself to finish his shopping and give the man a chance to rest.

She then put his items through the checkout, packed the groceries into her own car and then gave the man a lift home to ensure he got back safely.

General Store Manager of Asda Newton Mearns, Lisa Sandhu described the good deed: “It was the first time the gentleman had been out of the house for a while and he had a bit of a funny turn whilst shopping.

“While he had a rest and one of our first aiders looked after him, Margie went and finished off his shopping for him. After his rest the gentleman said he was all right, but Margie decided to drive him home to make sure he got back okay.”

“It wasn’t too far, but to get there he would have had to walk up a big hill. Margie did all this without being asked and we couldn’t be prouder to have her as a colleague!

“She is our superstar.”Well done Margie, we’re all proud of you.”
