Alison, who is playing for Team Greenbank CoS collected her prize this week from Veloworld owner, Gerardo Ballesteros.

She said: “Thanks very much to Veloworld and Beat the Street for my prize of a newly-reconditioned adult bike. I am absolutely delighted with it. I am a keen cyclist so this prize will definitely be well used.

“Our team is currently in fourth place on the total and average points leaderboards for community and workplace teams, and this will give me fresh impetus to get out and about and pile up the points in the last few days of Beat the Street” she added.

Nearly 10,000 players have signed up to take part in Beat the Street East and have together walked, cycled, rolled, scooted, run and wheeled more than 97,500 miles. The Beat Boxes are currently giving out double points until the game ends on Wednesday, 11th November at 7pm.

If the collective total of miles travelled exceeds 100,000 miles for SupERkids, organisers will donate £500 to East Renfrewshire SupERkids, a charity that helps children with additional support needs with weekly clubs and activities.

The initiative is delivered by Intelligent Health on behalf of East Renfrewshire Council, Paths for All’s Smarter Choices, Smarter Places programme and the Scottish Government.
